Dream Paladin starts out by introducing the five main characters, Allen Finche, Lawrence Jennings, Marcus Hamm, Brian Cawdor, and Roger Williams. The five men are from different lifestyles, different careers, and different regions of the country. None of the five have ever met, until one night they are thrown together into an extraordinary world by the hand of fate. This is brought on by them mysteriously falling into comas in their world's reality and waking in another world torn by war and in desperate need of a hero.
The five men are the subject of an ancient prophecy that tells of their coming to this land and reclaiming their place as the holy warriors of good. The inhabitants of this world know who they are. It isn't until the men embark on their adventure that they start to piece together the puzzle, of who they truly are and, in the case of this extraordinary world, who they were, before they are able to come to grips with the prophesy.
The men eventually find the center of knowledge
they are seeking which contains the answers. Through training and the help of
a Master Paladin Trainer do they follow the path that will lead them to greatness
and enlightenment. Because the men bear an uncanny resemblance to the great Paladin
who once protected the lands of Norandia, this leads to further questions as
to their true selves. Are they some reincarnation of the former Paladin or the
descendents of them who ended up in Norandia much as they did?
